While some brides get the opportunity to spend all day pampering themselves at the spa, some of us aren’t so lucky. We have to resort to at home treatments to get our skim glowing and wedding picture ready. Below are some quick recipes you can use to create your own wedding facial at home. Keep in mind that you should always put at least 48 hours between a facial and an event, so you won’t wind up blotchy.
The Oil Control Oatmeal Honey Mask
For this, you will need equal parts oatmeal and water, with about 2 teaspoons of honey, or enough honey to make the mixture gooey. Simply mix all this together and then put it on freshly cleaned skin for ten to fifteen minutes and then rinse off. As a tip, tie your hair back securely, as it’s very difficult to get honey out of your hair!
This mask is ideal for oily acne prone skin, because the oatmeal absorbs oil while the honey fights acnes causing bacteria.
Avocado Mask for Dry Skin
Keep the honey out for this one. Avocado is a very fatty vegetable (or fruit?) which makes it ideal for fixing dry chapped skin. Simply take 1/2 cup mashed, ripe avocado and ¼ cup of honey and mix it into a paste. Then, spread it on your face and leave it there for ten to 15 minutes. Then rinse and pat dry for soft glowing skin.
In this case, very dry skin will do the best with the mask as it can be very oily. It’s also a good mask for mature skin.
Soothing Mask for Any Skin
This soothing mask will help any type of skin. Simply mix 1 cup of natural yogurt with half a cup of oatmeal. Mix into a paste, refrigerate for 5 minutes and then apply to your face. Wait ten to 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with a warm cloth. This mask can help reduce puffiness, eliminate oil and refresh your appearance. It is suitable for all skin types.
One of the best parts of these wedding facial recipes is that they are interchangeable. You can add a bit of honey to the soothing mask or a bit of yogurt to the oily skin mask, depending on your needs. The cultures in yogurt fight bacteria, and the same goes with honey, while oatmeal is great for absorbing oil and pulling toxins from skin. Finally, Avocado is a great natural moisturizer.
Now that you know what everything does, you can play around with these recipes and create your own great custom facial, just for you!
